This magnifier is a great little thing to have. Flip it out from its holder and you'll have excellent magnification for looking at all sorts of things. Turn on the light (which is a surprisingly bright little LED) and your subject will be illuminated greatly. Comes in a handy little protector box which I've dropped on hardwood floors (by accident) - no damage to the product at all (just my ego). :P I collect rocks and stones as a hobby. I don't view gemstones like diamonds or anything like that. But for picking out and identifying gold in my rocks, this little tool has been very helpful to me. Pointing a lamp or even using an adjustable flashlight/desk lamp is not the same as having light on exactly what you're looking at, all the time. That is extremely helpful. I highly recommend! 10/10 A++!!Read full review

not very high magnification. seems too cheaply made. I gave it away to a kid across the street, so I don't know how long it lasted. Poor quality in my opinion, but great concept. Too bad it didn't have a glass lens, instead of plastic, and stronger magnification for my old eyes. Even with my glasses on, it had poor magnification. Might make a great gift for the junior explorer in the family, or in your neighborhood. I would not recommend it.

I'm happy with this. It's inexpensive but so far works well, I can see small flaws and features in semiprecious stones and the LED is quite bright. The lens is so small and thick that it distorts quite a bit obviously, and you have to put it right up to the thing you're magnifying, so I'm not sure I'll use this one for pulling splinters. I may get a larger magnifying glass for that, but this loupe fits the purposes I bought it for. Some of those "agate" beads are definitely glass.

I have used a HE Harris & Co. Wide Field 10X Loupe for Years!! The Quality and Fact it’s a Solid Metal Loupe, I never wanted/Needed to upgrade. But as I’ve gotten Little older and my eyes aren’t as Good. I decided to upgrade to a higher power Loupe. So I purchased 2 Styles since the Prices on the new loupes is very inexpensive!! I Purchased this Loupe and Handle style. Both are 40X, and both have LED Lights. The other is easier to hold but more bulky. This one is More comfortable as it’s set up is like a classic Jewelers Loupe I am accustomed too. Also the other style if you don’t use the LED lights is very dark and hard to see coins through. As for this one I can use with or without the LED Lights no problem. All in all for the price this is a Very Nice Loupe and it is much easier to see the details of Coins now. The Lights have a pro and con to them. If your looking at older dirty Coins the light helps significantly. But if your trying to look at Proofs or BU Coins the Lights actually create a very bright glare to the surface and until you get that sweet spot you can’t see much of anything especially the details your looking for and whole reason you use a Loupe. Also this does come with a little hard plastic case to store the Loupe in with a battery compartment key inside the case. For the money this is actually a good quality Loupe . Is it the best, NO is it good quality for the money, YES. It does the job and going over some of my error Coins I found with my 10X. The errors pop out at you when using 40X. Hope this helps. Happy Collecting!!!Read full review
