For the past two decades, Troy Van Leeuwen has put his personal stamp on modern rock through his work with such influential bands as A Perfect Circle and Queens of the Stone Age. With this Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster, he also got to put his stamp on one of the coolest Fender guitars you'll find in Sweetwater's Guitar Gallery. While it's easy write off the signature touches of the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster as largely aesthetic (the oxblood finish, the tortoiseshell pickguard, the painted headstock, etc.), you'll find some wonderful upgrades onboard as well, including its unique switching and Mustang bridge. • Great jazzer at a great price!

I had seen other reviews stating that the fit and finish was quite good. Well, they were right. Not only is this guitar a real looker with it's oxblood and tortoise combination, it's screwed together very nicely. Simply, it was flawless. I love the slightly underwound ('65s) pickups which give it a little more chime and clarity than jazzmasters of yore. This is a comparatively value priced guitar that really stands up to a lot more expensive guitars that I've owned. Kudos to Fender's Mexican shop. I'd shop there again.
