    Great quality images for a point and shoot

    I love the LX5. It takes great quality photos and is very easy to use. It's a point and shoot, but the photo quality is excellent and the manual setting options are extensive. If you know what you're doing you can take nice nighttime shots. Most of the time the "intelligent auto" setting really is intelligent and takes an excellent photo on the fly without tooling around with manual changes. A lens cap is an essential add to have with this camera. Without it, the lens will get scratched up pretty quick. I have had 3 of these cameras. Partially, I can be rough on gear (they have all met sandy and/or watery deaths). And partially I feel like this camera isn't as durable, considering its heft. The lens starts to get stick as it extends/retracts with even the thought of a little dirt or sand ...

    Great little camera

    Am moving from a heavy Canon 40D to lighter weight equipment. Am doing an advanced compact and superzoom bridge. This little LX5 is a dream to use, and carry around. More than enough buttons and dials to keep me happy and picture quality is very impressive. Because of the size I'm skipping it in my jacket pocket and taking it almost everywhere I go. Now just have to hope the superzoom bridge will fill the telephoto needs as well. Waiting for it to arrive. So impressed with Panasonic the the bridge superzoom ordered is also Panasonic FZ1000.

    Incredible Camera and Value

    Recently, I was reviewing my photos from years ago and discovered that some of my best photos were taken with a Lumix LX5 that I owned in 2011. I have owned at least a half dozen digital cameras since then, all of which were more expensive than the LX5. Consequently, I purchased another LX5 on eBay. The price was under $200 for a near mint camera. The LX5 can compete with more recent cameras that cost times as much.

    Best small camera

    I wanted a small camera that I could shoot both JPEG and RAW on, and this camera does that. It also has a Leica lens and as much shooting flexibility as a photographer could want. I'm thrilled that these cameras are available these days at such a reasonable price. Great bargain!
