  • Eliminator eliminated

This is undoubtedly one of the worst kits Estes has ever made - I LOVE IT!. Sadly they no longer make it. The original Eliminator had the launch lug too close to the air frame so they give you extra lugs and a balsa stick to fix it. The Eliminator XL is worst; the parts don't even fit together - test fit and SAND. But don't get discouraged; with an Estes's "E" or even better an Aerotech "F-32", this rocket really rocks!! The Estes Hot Shot is also a good alternative.

  • Estes Saturn V

Estes has done a remarkable job in presenitng this construction kit to the general public. The construction tasks are daunting, quite demanding of your modelling skills, but manageable. The main problem is that the finished rocket is quite UNDER-POWERED. Estes technology only produced the D12 series of engines; the model really needs a bit more oomph. The new E-series engines are ideal, but they require a larger body tube. You may want to consider this modification before attempting the build. Once you install the smaller D-engine tubing; it will be problemativ trying to replace it.
