Reviews
"Peppered with moments of political satire and heartfelt introspection, Stephens's novel also offers a fun-house depiction of the absurdities and horrors of the surveillance state. This is an excellent debut." -- Publishers Weekly, "A biting critique of identity that lampoons genetic ties and ethnic stereotypes... The increasing tension and outlandishness of Stephens' work lends itself to a poignant take on the topic of family." -- Kirkus Reviews

Synopsis
Stephens' darkly comic, sharply irreverent, undeniably wise 'Great Adoption Novel' is an unexpectedly timely, not-to-be-missed, epic wild ride. --Booklist, *Starred Review* Lisa Pearl is an American teaching English in Japan and the situation there--thanks mostly to her spontaneous, hard-partying ways--has become problematic. Now she's in Seoul, South Korea, with her childhood best-friend Mindy. The young women share a special bond: they are both Korean-born adoptees into white American families. Mindy is in Seoul to track down her birth mom, and wants Lisa to do the same. Trouble is, Lisa isn't convinced she needs to know about her past, much less meet her biological mother. She'd much rather spend time with Harrison, an almost supernaturally handsome local who works for the MotherFinder's agency. When Lisa wakes up inside a palatial mountain compound, the captive of a glamorous, surgically-enhanced blonde named Honey, she soon realizes she is going to learn about her past whether she likes it or not. What happens next only could in one place: North Korea., "Stephens' darkly comic, sharply irreverent, undeniably wise 'Great Adoption Novel' is an unexpectedly timely, not-to-be-missed, epic wild ride." --Booklist, *Starred Review* Lisa Pearl is an American teaching English in Japan and the situation there--thanks mostly to her spontaneous, hard-partying ways--has become problematic. This is an outstanding seller to deal with. Fair prices that are more than reasonable in this economy. The product is in better condition than described, a true value for my money. Packaged and shipped well shows seller has concern for the products he sells to arrive in excellent condition. The seller is friendly and communicates timely with his customers. I highly recommend this seller and would do business again anytime. Thank you!

Great seller! Item is what I ordered; good communication; shipped promptly; good value. NOTE TO SELLER: packaging was NOT appropriate for item; it was a flimsy, plastic envelope, with no stiff material to prevent creases. The book came with two deep creases that involved the *entire* item: one is a 1" triangle lower left side (bound edge); the other is a 7" triangle on upper right side (open edge).

Item as described. Shipped quick. Packed well. They accidentally gave me the wrong tracking number. I contacted them twice with my concerns that package third party shipper never was received at USPS as of 5 days after it said they shipped. They helped me through but neglected to see they had issued me an incorrect tracking number. Otherwise, my transaction was excellent. I will give them a 5star rating since they quickly tried to help me with my concerns. Anyone can make a mistake.
