    Great upgrade for older machines.

    Inexpensive upgrade to allow older machines to utilize the faster speeds of USB 3.0, Only problem I found was accompanying disc had several files on it, finding the proper driver was tedious,

    Get Something Else.

    The USB Card Adapter is inexpensive. However, its' operation is sketchy. Several times all the USBs plugged into it have disappeared from the computer display. Only rebooting solves the problem. It also needs an external power supply, which isn't apparent unless you look at the pictures closely. I suggest paying a bit more and getting something else.

    Works well enough

    Works well enough for an inexpensive card. It worked right away in Windows, however it needed a firmware upgrade in order to work with Linux (which required installing it in a Windows PC first). For anyone looking to do the same, just google VIA VL805 firmware upgrade and you should be able to find the utility to do it. My card had firmware version 013500, which I upgraded to 013703.
