Sawyer Repellent Works
Picaridin-based repellent works. My experience is with mosquitoes in South Carolina. It is effective for several hours and seems to remain effective while sweating heavily. I don't know if it works after swimming. If "feels" better than DEET, which has a kind of sticky/oily feel. With Sawyers repellent, you must do a good job of spreading the repellent. If you miss a spot, the mosquitoes will find that spot. Sawyers doesn't seem to stain clothing, even though it says "do not apply to clothing".Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Effective Product
I've used this stuff for quite a few years and I think it does a good job of protecting against bug bites (without using toxic ingredients). My only problem with it is that it's very hard to use on some areas of the body (legs, especialy) 'cause it will only spray out when held in an upright position and that's very hard to do when trying to cover the legs while you're standing. Best value alternative to DEET
Have not had opportunity to test it in a heavy mosquito area, but so far seems to work. Despite 2 safety caps and a plastic wrapper, the container was greasy on the outside when I took off the wrapper. Bugs Be Gone!
Work in the Gulf of Mexico and sail out of southern LA. If you can imagine the bugs on the bayou, they are relentless. They literally love the taste of repel, Off, and a few others. Use just a little of this and they will not even land on you! Small bottle? Yes it is, but again, you only need very little for it to be affective! Awesome product!!!
