    Very capable CPU, not the best for gaming

    Does the job, on the now-relatively inexpensive LGA2011 platform. Not as "fast" as the E5-16xx series of cpus due to not being overclockable but still nice in terms of core count and decent speed. Will pull its weight quite well and good TDP, though perhaps not the best for gaming.

    Gaming upgrade on the cheap.

    Installed this cpu in an older T5610 Dell workstation (1.8ghz quad core xeon with no boost) along with a decent gaming card to use at my buddies place for gaming. Hexacore CPU runs at 2.9ghz on boost on all 6 cores all the time. Plenty of juice for pretty much even the most modern games. And, SUPER CHEAP!
