    Good quality but easy to cut the sheath

    The knife is very close to perfect, the only thing is is that it’s hard to strike a ferro rod. The sheath is good quality, but it’s easy to cut by accident. The strap holding the knife in place is very easy to cut off when taking out the knife. Thus the 4 stars not 5.

    Fits the needs

    I actually bought this as a Christmas gift for my 14 year old son, he is an outdoorsman and a edged weapon collector. This will be one of his favorites I am sure. I found a kabar in an old barn, it had been buried for many years. I cleaned it up, put a new leather handle on it and put an edge on it also. It is not pretty any more due to extreme pitting and rust from obviously years of being buried in dirt. BUT, it is still strong and holds an edge.

    May have a dog's head, but it ain't a dog.

    It's a KaBar, not much else needs to be said. I do like the dog's head logo on the blade and sheath. I prefer the guard on this model to the standard issue. I haven't made up my mind about the pommel, tho I do like that it has a hole for a lanyard. Bottom line is it's a KaBar and all the good stuff / history that goes along with it (and Made in the USA).

    The title says everything, very high-quality, very sturdy very sharp knife.... I purchased one for myself and I bought one for a friend it was such a good knife I thought and I got the dogs head version because I wanted a knife with a larger pommel
