    good basic walkie

    I ordered these because I've always liked more simple and user friendly products without all the unnecessary bells and whistles that go unused anyway. I was looking at the waterproof walkies for kayaking, they were affordable but just had too many useless "features". So I opted for these more simple units and they serve me just fine, no multiple upper and lower channels to fret with just basic key and talk,sound quality and volume are very good I like the roger beep but prefer manual squelch control, I'm not sure of the range cause I've not been more tan a mile apart but that's okay with me,another reviewer spoke of difficulty installing batteries, not so, very easy, and standard AAA batteries are a plus, 3 per unit. Motorola has always been a trusted name in 2-way comms I hope it remains ...

    Not quite what I expected

    While they do get the job done at my place of employment the description is misleading. They do not reach near as far as described and the signal seems to be very poor. I work in a fairly rural area so I thought they would be more clear. I should’ve spent the extra few dollars and gotten the Dewalt brand.

    Unbeatable for the price

    A great gift for twins. Bought a set for granddaughter and another for the twins next door. Installed 3 AAA cells, tested them, and re-packed in the box leaving them in standby mode. At gift time I used one of my own walkies to call out "Let me out!" and such things. While Motorola is no longer a US product, the quality seems to be there just the same.

    Lots of Static, Nothing Else

    We ordered these because they were small and lightweight, much easier to have hanging on our necks all day long. Unfortunately, though, they didn't work. Even though we always made sure to be on the same channel, and kept them turned on, they never rang when we called, and, when they ultimately did ring, all we could get was static. We had to return them.
