Good image quality
Super images for a 5.1 MPXL camera
Took one of these on vacation to Amsterdam and London. Actually took clearer brilliant colored images than our traveling companion who had a 12 MegaPixel camera. Perfect for printing 4x6 hardcopies when set to 3:2 aspect ratio. No need to crop or edit, unless you want to. Picked up a used one on here for under $20 as a replacement. Works perfectly! The main thing you will need to know about this camera is the batteries. My old one will not work with standard AA sized alkaline batteries. Found out after I bought the replacement camera that the original came with rechargable AA batteries with 2000mA rating. Most throw away batteries don't pump out enough charge to even keep the lens open before shutting down. Bought a pair of AA rechargeables for electronics that are 2500mA. Brought my old camera back to life. So be sure to get the right amperage batteries for best results. As for the camera card, I have an 8gb memory stick pro duo with an adapter. Can take over 3000 4x6 photos! Sweet! As for video, my old camera still has this problem and the new one to some extent. Yes, you can record video, but I opted to use my ipod for this reason only. I can't keep the video in focus when recording! I point at an indoor stationary object and the focus goes in and out constantly every second or two. Pure nonsense. The new one does this as well. I have no manual to see if I'm at fault, but I don't think so if it does it on both. So shy away from recording video as it will not be HD quality. More like 1.2 Megapixels. There's even a setting to make videos email friendly at some ridiculously small resolution. Granted this camera is 10 years old. No one should be using this for video, ever. Lastly, if you need higher quality photos for printing 8x10 or larger. This is not the camera for you. If you love 4x6, it's perfect. You may even squeak by with minor graininess in a 5x7. But again, it's made for 4x6 or smaller printing. Photos look superb on web pages as well.

Great bang for your buck, but prone to dust spots and it murders batteries.
This is one of the best point and shoot cameras overall when it comes down to it's value, size, and features. There is an actual Manual mode on this little bugger. The focusing on this camera is spot-on, and you will never have that issue, even at night. Just stay still and your shot will come out nicely without flash at night. Sadly, this camera needs STRONG batteries, I'm talking Lithium AA Energizer batteries (that's okay, you can actually recharge those with a specific charger), otherwise your batteries WILL die fast. Also, this camera seems to be prone to acquiring dust spots within the lens.
One of the best cameras I've ever had
This is a excellent camera, I had one before, sadly, it broke, so I bought a new one, this is a sturdy camera, I love the video, sound, and 5mp pictures are great, you dont need a big $800.00 camera with 12mp photos, and all these different kinds of lenses for excellent photos, the 3X zoom is really good for those close up shots you would love to get, one of the things I dont like about it, you cant zoom in well recording, but thats no big deal, not alot of features, but enough to keep me happy! you got: sepia tone, black & white, invert, and more! the flash is REALLY bright for dark areas. all I can say is: WHAT AN AWESOME CAMERA!!!!!
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W5 5.1 Megapixel Digital Camera
I had the same camera several years ago and was stolen, I got another like camera and it now needs fixing which will cost much more than it is probably worth so I found one on ebay and bought it. I like the picture quality and I know how to use it so wanted to buy another. There are cameras with newer features but they are more costly so decided to go this route for now. This camera is a little bigger than some and I feel I can hold it more steady while snapping a photo and easy to retrieve the pictures.
The best camera I've ever owned!
I purchased this item used, as my original camera was damaged. I wanted the same camera, because it takes very good pictures, I love the features it provides, and has been the best camera I have ever owned. I would recommend this camera to friends and family members, because it is a high quality product for the price, and it meets my needs.
