They sway side to side and I don't means it's not on a level surface I mean the red metal actually bends. I own so very many of the Excel power tools. This is the first I find disappointing. The legs are also a pain to descend the lever doesn't release far enough so you have to angle it just right to get it to drop. After enough weight is added they're workable.
