Tips for using
I bought this to do TNR with feral cats. I was using a carrier baited at the back door and had to sit there for hours and days waiting for the cats to walk in so I could quickly shut the door. This trap is much easier. And, there are NO springs on the door so no injuries But I will list some TIPS for using it. I always cover the trap with an old towel. Cats are curious by nature and tend to check out darker spots. Place a heavy object on top. I use ONE cinder block. This is so a very upset critter can't tip the trap over, which then releases the door. Have some type of easy hook to quickly lock the door shut before picking up the trap. I caught a feral within just a few minutes of first use, but when I reached to pick up the trap she hit the door so hard that rings went up and she was gone. I was left standing there in shock. 2 of my previously spayed ferals also went into the trap and I had no problem releasing them. I have just purchased a trap fork on ebay also. Will prevent release while locking the door. I'm so glad to find a trap that has no springs and is so easy set up.

Heavy but not safe to release living.
Made of very heavy steel, with a dead fall locking system, animal will have to be dispatched before release. Nice and heavy, smaller type handle may need replaced. Painted dark green, a wire mesh trip pan, with very heavy rods doing the release.

coon too tuff for it
got the large trap 36x14x15 great catcher good construction if you catch cats or something in one year I caught 36 coons once three at one time 28 possums 4 cats 5 skunk once a possum and a skunk at the same time on my porch and patio they are made of strong steel wire welded at some points easy to release just turn the trap over the door falls open however the coons have totally destroyed the trap they have pulled the wire off the corners to expose large holes once bending the trigger rods 1/4 inch steel rods and last night pulled the welded wire completely off the trigger and bending the rods again the wire on this cage is so tuff I can't bend it without using pliers by hand near impossible im tired or repairing this trap I paid a premium price hoping good results but again good idea but not built to hold a coon or I have the strongest coons on the planet

Jimz review
I have one of these already but needed a second to fight armadillos. They push right through the ones from Tractor supply.
