It was like new out of the box. It was easy to set up and connect to my internet. I put the unit on the home base to obtain a full charge and then followed the directions to map my downstairs. This was a bit of a struggle to get it to map my home's first floor. I had delete the maps several time as they were incomplete, missing whole rooms or not saving the map after a mapping run. Finially it mapped the entire downstairs, not sure what was different, but now it is cleaning the entire downstairs and getting it all! It will also now goes to any room to clean that i select manually. The cleaning job is very nice too, I would now give it a 5.

unbelievably noisy. unit seems to be in good condition, powers on and cleans okay.
Works okay. Looks brand new. Makes an AWFUL racket when running. The entire duration of the cleaning cycle the machine is making an incredibly loud CHKCHKCHKCHKCHKCHK sound. The noise is due to the green rubber "brushes". The rubber is soft to the touch but hard enough to make an awful noise on hardwood floors. The actual vacuum motor is nowhere near as loud as the racket produced by the brushes. What an idiotic design.

An Unbeatable Deal on a Great Time-Saver
What a GREAT DEAL! This iRobot i4 is a wifi-enabled robot vac designed by the industry leader in Cambridge Mass. It traverses hard floors, rugs, carpets and thresholds with ease, and it does a better job vacuuming than I do and I'm told I'm a little OCD about it. The i4 features room mapping and a very effective sensor capability to avoid stairs and find its docking station, as well as user-replaceable parts to keep it in top shape for years. This item, refurbished by iRobot, arrived in like-new condition and performs like a new unit. This is an unbeatable price and an unbeatable value on an excellent and thorough cleaning time-saver. We like it so much we bought a second, one for upstairs and one for down.

Not impressed with this
After running the map program on the iRobot appI attempted to have the vacuum clean the main floor of our house. It got stuck under both our rockers after running around the perimeter. I relocated the vaccum and tried to get it to resume cleaning but it went in a 1 foot diameter circle for about 3 min then shut down. I tried to send it back for a recharge but all it did was beep and I had to physically return it to the charging base. Very disappointed with this machine. Will return this one and order the880 model that will join my 4 yr old 880. I know they work well.
