I replaced our 18 year old ice-maker which had deteriorated, was leaking water and only working intermittently. This ice maker is an excellent value as the 'genuine' Whirlpool/Kenmore unit was twice the price. Be sure to check out videos of how to install a replacement ice maker for your particular refrigerator. I would have never discovered the plastic latches that hold the ice maker in place.
