Will the Real Johnny Depp Please Stand UP
Hollywood writers can seldom write a part up to the talents of Johnny Depp. The man owns the part making his characters real and believable on the big screen. Whether he is a killer or a moronic Hercule Poirot, he plays his part/s to perfection. In this movie Johnny Depp's character is a bumbling Hercule Poirot type character with an adoring wife (Gwyneth Paltrow - excellent in the part) that ties up the many loose ends her aristocratic husband leaves tangling. It is a cute entertaining movie, but does have a very weak script. Somewhere between the pink panther's Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau and Inspector Hercule Poirot the script lets the audience down and wastes the talents of the all star cast. Better Hollywood dialog and plot writing could have made this film a magical combination for a new and widely missed series to compete with the late Peter Sellers.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
