  • Great for the money

Most pictures don't show exactly how small this lens is, but it's super compact, and an a6000 it makes for an easy carry-anywhere combo. Build quality is very good, aperture and focus rings are both smooth but with the right amount of resistance. Both the aperture and focus on this lens are manual, so you're doing all the work, but that was part of the appeal to me. Image quality, especially considering the price, is surprisingly good. Wide open (at f1.7) there's decent central sharpness, but once you stop down a little the center gets quite sharp. By 2.8 most of the frame is sharp, and by f4 it's very sharp all around. Colors look natural, and there's a decent amount of contrast. Distortion is definitely present. It's barrel distortion, and if you're planning to do mostly architectural shots (or anything with lots of straight lines), it takes some work in post-processing. It's roughly the same type and degree of distortion exhibited by the Sigma 30mm f1.4 Contemporary. All things considered, it's hard to knock this lens when you consider the price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or buy again.

  • Shapeness is no joke.

I recommend to buy this lens for sony camera users that have magnifying feature in body. It's too easy to focus even shallow depth of field situation.

  • Good Lens

The lens is quite good for the money though it does get soft fully open. The JPEGs coming out of camera are not that good as the camera does not have a lens profile for this. Using sony 20 mm profile for its pictures works quite well. Overall, I am satisfied to try this as my first manual lens.

  • Sharp

Extremely sharp in the middle of frame and mid f stops; quite soft towards edges. For the price, amazing. Very nice background blur. Easy landscapes: just turn the focus ring to infinity and shoot.

  • Great lens for the $$

Great lens at an unbelievable price. Perfect for micro 4/3. Sharp with tons of character. All manual, so just know that, but if you're like me, and you never use autofocus, this is well worth the money. Make Art!!

  • Value for money.

Meike 35mm is the one I need for light weight with f1.7, super for travel. Sharpness is not a problem in Canon M3. Overall handling is quit easy, smooth and durable too.
