SynopsisASPEN Jackson heard Dixie growl a warning and then start barking. Then a boom at the back of his house. Dixie yelping. Just before he got to the kitchen door he saw the intruder had crossed the kitchen and was bringing his gun up. Dixie was on the floor behind the perp and Jackson saw blood, lots of blood. She lunged and bite the man in the calf of his leg. That gave Jackson the edge he needed and he fired. The last man was down. Jackson checked for a pulse and found a faint one, then he saw that Dixie was down and not moving. Sleepy Creek As he walked back to where he had hidden his truck he noticed someone in the ditch not far from where he was parked. He couldn't just walk away without checking if his help was needed, as it was not in him to leave someone injured and alone. There were a lot of things he was not proud of that he had done and those ate at him but he could live with them. Leaving someone who may need his help wasn't something he could live with. He would check it out and see what was up before committing himself to any aid. If the person was injured there would be a need for the EMT's and then a lot of questions. Questions he was not prepared to answer. As he finished these thoughts he found himself checking this man for injuries. Whisper Valley "Something is going on here Helen and I will get to the bottom of it. You are my boss but more important you are my friend. I will not let it rest after seeing what has happened to you." "We will talk when I come back to work. Promise you that. It's something that I have held in for 35 years. Just may be time to let it go, or at least to try again to let it go. Please Nancy just a few days and we will talk." "Not to my liking but..... OK. Any idea of what caused all this. It seemed to have something to do with one of the girls." "It's Annie..... She's come back. I know she's dead but she's come back., ASPENJackson heard Dixie growl a warning and then start barking.
