Only concern so far is that each of the two top lids each have scuff marks under the protective plastic sheets as though they were clamped too harshly during drilling. Although not be of an operational concern, at this price it was expected that there would have been better care taken to protect the appearance. In any case... very pleased so far.

This extractor does the job - it quickly and efficiently extracts the honey. It is easy to operate, and runs smoothly and quietly. You do have to manually lift out and flip the frames, but that is not an issue and we did not want to spend the extra dollars to get one that has a reversible basket. The only negative is that the honey had foam on top, but we were able to remove it with plastic wrap, and the foamed honey is actually very tasty! A good product and a great value for the money spent. I do recommend it!

UNACCEPTABLE QUALITY CONTROL
First the Pros: Packaging was excellent. The carton was extra heavy duty and each corner was reinforced with 1/4 inch thick cardboard ribs. The contents were delivered completely intact and undamaged. Good quality stainless steel construction. The Cons: UNACCEPTABLE quality control. 1) Welds on side of main drum/container were sloppy. 2) Interior threads for mounting the legs on main unit were made of soft metal. Turn the bolt too much and the threads stripped. 3) Brackets attaching the basket shaft to the motor shaft were not tightened and adjusted to align tightly. Result: Shaft slipped and squealed during operation. I had to disassemble unit to tighten all fasteners. 4) Black motor grease was used in bottom of unit where shaft was inserted into to drum to spin. Must be cleaned out and food grade lubricant must be applied in its place. 5. Motor shaft is not lubricated. Must be done before operation. 6, Plexiglass covers/windows on top of unit were milled incorrectly. Drilled holes do not align with hinges on the unit. Impossible to mount unless you are prepared to do some drilling yourself in order to mount them correctly. Unit WILL NOT OPERATE if these windows are not mounted and aligned correctly as there are brackets on these which operate the safety ON/OFF switch. 7. NO INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED.

Fine quality, good value; recommended.
I was hesitant ordering this extractor given the potential for quality control and design issues related to previous purchases of relatively low-cost equipment from the PRC, but it arrived substantially undamaged (there were some minor nicks in the plexiglas flip-up cover for the extractor tub, but other than that it was well-packed and damage-free. After a quick clean-up prior to extracting from 2 sets of 4 deep frames, it worked perfectly well. I have not yet fastened the free-standing legs to a stable surface (for instance a thick sheet of plywood,), but bolts to do that are provided, and it would be a good idea to do so. Once I got it loaded with my 4 deeps, I couldn't get the speed up initially past 30% of max because the slightly unbalanced load caused the extractor to start wobbling - requiring two people to hold it down. After flipping the frames around and repeating the process it was possible to get the speed up past 50%, and when the frames were nearly drained, to 100%, but bolting it to a rigid surface would likely solve that problem.

It was a great deal for the money!
I was concerned at first, when I opened up the box, it appeared to be missing some parts. After checking below the foam packaging, they were there, including the instructions. Easy to put together! If you use equal amounts of frames per side it runs beautifully. Very easy to clean up. If you pull the motor off in order to remove the wire spin basket , don't loose the ball bearing under the shaft.

Works as advertised!
The extractor is adequate for the price. However it is not, I say again, it is not tall enough to fit a 5 gallon bucket under the honey gate with the supplied legs. I had read other reviews before i purchased where they have said it was, so I do not know what the difference is, this i the 4 frame electric extractor. The edges are sharp on some of the components, mainly the motor support cross frame so take care not to cut yourself. I use the 6 5/8" super frames and do not need any rubber bands to hold anything in place.
