''LIFEFORCE'' 1984
This is a great film. This film turned age 39 this past February. Filming began in that month and was released in theatres in the summer 1985. Matilda May is chillingly excellent as the leader of a group of space vampires who arrive on Earth to destroy humanity. But a group of scientists go to stop and wipe out these monsters. I really love the 15 minute longer director's cut as it fleshes out the story and gives it more interest. 3 stars to both versions of this film.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

a real turkey of a movie
Only made it to the twenty minute mark. I could accept the dated special effects ( okay for 1981 ) but the wooden acting and the focus on a nude ( albeit attractive ) woman was gratuitous. I'm amazed that the producers ( Golan and Globus ) got Henry Mancini to score this ( with the London Symphony Orchestra no less ) turkey about space vampires. Perhaps this film has nostalgia value for those who saw it when it came out; or maybe diehard horror buffs would appreciate it. Good movie, great effects, creative plot, and surprisingly big budget film. Big name actors list, don't how that poor lady star felt walking around like that the whole time.
