Product review - Heathkit IT-3121 / IT-1121
Great instrument for the advanced technician or engineer to examine semiconductors.. The Heathkit IT-3121 is electrically identical to the earlier IT-1121. The only differences are cosmetic. Construction and operation manuals are available on-line using a google search. Since these instruments are a few decades old, I'd highly recommend replacing the 9 electrolytic capacitors and cleaning the switches with contact cleaner. A useful upgrade is to replace the oscilloscope banana jacks with BNC connectors. Typical price these days (late 2021) for a functioning IT-3121 or IT-1121 is $200 - $300.
