The Sony PlayStation 2 game console, was released in the year 2000 by Sony Computer Entertainment. The launch of the PlayStation ushered in a whole new era of gaming. The Sony PlayStation 2 console can output high-definition resolutions on your TV using the component video input. The Sony PlayStation 2 console also has composite and S-Video video connections. These connections allow you to hook the device up to a CRT television. You can even connect the PlayStation 2 to your computer monitor using the VGA video output. A digital audio port lets you connect the PS2 to your surround sound setup. This Sony device reads audio CDs, letting it double as a stereo. This Sony console release also has a DVD drive that allows it to play any DVD movie inserted into it. The PS2 also features online capabilities. The online component allows you to play a game with gamers from all over the world. The PS2 supports a wide array of gaming accessories, including both memory cards and headsets. The DualShock 2 retains the force feedback of the original controller but improves upon it. This gamepad now features multiple levels of vibration, providing a greater feel of immersion. The shape of the gamepad is ergonomic and won't leave you with hand cramps even after an all-night gaming session. The cable on the DualShock 2 is 7 feet long, allowing you to sit at a comfortable distance from the TV while you play.

    Good deal

    It works perfectly on my Samsung smart tv, I bought 2 wired controllers and am swimming in nostalgia. There was a sizeable chip in the power cord however, I was worried it may not work, but it did. ☆Update☆ It worked well at first, but the connection was incredibly weak due to the cord that hooks up to the tv being severely damaged. I assume I can find & buy a new one, but that was pretty disappointing. My game blacked out more than once before I figured out a way to keep it in properly, sort of...

    All is good except the rip off memory card

    Everything works as described. The disc tray opens a little rough and noisy, but works perfectly otherwise. Only one thing really upset me about this purchase. It is the fact that this lot is supposed to have two memory cards with it. Well....It has one intact fully functioning red see thru card, and one totally EMPTY red see thru memory card CASE. Somebody actually opened it up and removed the guts. Why even bother sending somebody a useless empty case? That's pretty messed up!

    The Playstation To Have

    This used Sony Playstation 2 Console is better than expected because I was, previously, using my daughter's Sony Playstation 2 Slim Console to play my old 1980s & 1990s arcade games on. I knew the discs were compatible but worried about the unit's disc drive not performing at its best. I plyed "Roadblasters" and it was fun.

    Excellent condition & matched the photos.

    Overall excellent condition, especially for being almost 2 decades old. It matched the photos and started up fine, though I'm still waiting on a controller and memory card but I'm sure the ports will work normally as well. I gave it a light cleaning and I opened it up and the inside looked great as well with a minor amount of dust and the ribbon cables looked good too; the warranty seal was still unaltered so it seems as if it was a well taken care of console by the previous owner(s). The only missing component was the expansion bay cover (the photos showed it was missing too so no points lost there) but I'm also adding a network adapter so it was of no concern.

    All good on my end.

    Recieved as expected, looks exactly like what was pictured. I was mainly worried it wouldn't be the SCPH-39001 number listed since I intend to mod it, but it's the right one. The DVD tray is a little slow to open, but seems to work fine otherwise and I may even be able to fix that myself if I need to. It recognizes my controllers and memory card, and video outputs to my monitor just fine. I'm waiting on other orders before I can fully use it, but I don't expect to have any trouble based on what I've seen so far.
