Spool would not come out of the head of the unit until I pulled hard on it even though manual said it should come out when unlocked. Discovered that spool had broken inside housing and that piece had wedged spool in place. I am working on getting the part replaced, will update if/when issue is resolved. Seller is handling warranty communication for me with DeWalt.

Negative feedbackby l***oDuring past 6 monthsFirst battery weedeater-and last. Have for 25 years mowed weedeated 1-16 yards a week. This weed eater is not for me balanced. Cutting head is way to heavy than the battery end. Harder to use more harder on arms. I have always alone the walkway held the weed eater on a 45 degree angle. Walk slowly and weed eat. With this one it wants to run away out of line with you. Never had problem with gas ones. Most important if I got lot to weed eat-the gas is twice as fast.

I paid about the same price for a battery and charger alone. it did also come with a free mini skill saw but basically you're getting a good deal with the green machine and battery and charger. works great as long as the battery is charged the thing will go and go and go .great buy great price enough said .never mind the other projects in the back I'm not sure if that's the charger I already had or if it's the one that came with it but they're both basically the same thing

Thought I was getting a good deal until it arrived the spool had been shattered when it was assembled and now I have to wait almost a month before I can get the spool replaced through the DeWalt. Haven't been able to find a replacement spool or head so far to be able to use it any sooner

This thing works great!
Works great. Lightweight. Powerful. Charger and battery included at a great price. Shaft does NOT fold once assembled like other models. The ability to collapse had no value to me and added some weight to the unit. No more gas-powered string trimmers for me...EVER!
