'06 Prius w/JBL Nav System - Waste of Time and $$$
I'll spare you my pain... do not buy this unit if you intend to install it into a Prius w/JBL and Nav system. IT DOES NOT WORK. 1. Instructions are tough to follow, and leave several key bits of info out that I had to call and get from PAC tech support. 2. Upon radio turn on, I experienced the intermittent sound flickering that many have complained about with Prius/JBL applications (I found this info after the fact, shame on me for not doing better homework in the Prius forums). The sound will play for a few seconds, surge off / go quiet, then come back on... and repeats this over and over. This is an integration issue with the JBL amplifier. 3. If you do as I did, solder connections, heat shrink all connections, cut unused wires back for neat install... guess what, you get to keep the unit whether it works or not. I am not an Axxess stockholder or seller... but I bought the Axxess TYTO-01 and ASWC-1 to give them a try, they worked flawlessly (same price together as the PAC unit - just separate units for radio interface and steering wheel controls). I can confirm Axxess works for 06' Prius w/JBL and Nav. AVOID at every opportunity! Do not buy the PAC RP4.2 TY11 for a Prius.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
