  • They MAY work, but read my cautions.

Replacement for Gibson EB-3 type bridge mounts, if your originals are degraded. I cannot figure why the slots are so non-standardly big! IF the strings are at pitch, there is so much sideways shearing pull on the studs that you cannot turn them anyway, so wider slots than a standard large slotted screw driver blade offer no insurance against damage to the slot. Loosen the strings, make the adjustment turn, retune the strings to pitch. Notes: 1) they are machined very faintly loose if the screws are put into the original body fittings. 2) IF you are thinking of mounting a HipShot bridge to your vintage EB-3, be prepared for it not working. There can be intonation issues with the new bridge where the G string saddle runs out of room, AND when you try to tighten the new bridge down onto the bass top, the "ferrule" pieces may just start to be yanked up out of the bass top! They are NOT made to be tightened into, they are made to resist the sideways pull of the strings on the stock bridge, not up and down pull. On some Gibson and Epiphone basses, those ferrules will pull up out of the body. It's a terrible design.
