The original knob was made from an actual LEGO brick, while being made from a softer diameter rubber, which yielded too quickly under load. This makes it hard to work the control in tight spaces, such as an orca style bag. The new knob is a 3-D printed, harder diameter rubber. Correctly fitted, it’s well designed and makes it noticeably easier to operate the control.
