Spending this much for a phone holder is not my thing, there are a number of boxes to tick. Well made, holds the phone steady, easy to install etc... surprising this little holder ticks every box. Recommended. It has soft rubber "teeth" that help keep the phone steady and are gentle on the besel at the same time. It does feel like the phone is much closer to you using this mounting method and you can only hold the device in landscape mode, but that's perfect for maps. Nice idea, could be better
Brought this to replace a fixed version that we lost. The idea is fine, but have found that the internal covering of the phone grip is quite slippery so phones just slide out of it, mine is only held in by the volume up and down buttons. My wife has hers in a case and it just falls straight out. Also the addition of the ball joint (which works perfectly well) makes the phone stand out a long way from the dash which means all the weight is on the vent mount whereas with the fixed ones the bottom of the phone tended to lean against the dash board as you used the screen.Brought this to replace a fixed version that we lost. Suction cup does the job really well. With the phone mounted centrally, the clamps tend to press on the buttons on the side. This can be cured by shifting the phone to the right of centre. The phone does tend to vibrate when driving on roads which are not absolutely smooth. I got around this by mounting the bracket so that the arm was just above the dashboard and inserting a small block of rubber between the top of the dash and the arm - job done. Innovative phone clamp
I had been looking for an effective way of securing my phone in my van / Motorhome. Problem is the windscreen is too far away for a sucker type fixing. This clamp has solved the problem - it clamps securely to the dash board over the instrument cluster and holds the phone firmly and conveniently. Very pleased with it - good quality and well designed.
