Buy the right size clipper for the right type of coast/fur your cutting.
It works best in lighter furred dogs. I have a German Shepherd with the thicker winter under fur coat. I'm now told the #5 would of worked better but I just had to work at it a little longer. Good quality blade, good price, but needs to be sharpened in order to be used.
The blade came to me unsharpened. I am familiar with the quality of Oster product, so I have no problem recommending it, however, in order to use this blade I have to take it to a professional sharpener in Edmonton, which I can do. Oster 10 blade
Factory fresh and after I initially oiled it, it cut my dogs hair with ease! I didn't know how dull my old Oster 10 blade was until I got and used this new blade! Built to last
It lasted many years. I had to get a new one because I left the first one to soak in alcohol, and then I forgot about it. The alcohol evaporated and the blade got rusty. Even so, it still cut fairly well. The new one of course cuts much better, clean, precise, and fast. Does not fit properly
Even though company says it will fit an Oster Golden A5 we had MUCH trouble getting it to slide into place. Hopefully the force we had to use did not damage our set of clippers. We have owned this set of clippers for many years and have only used actual Oster blades. This is first we ever had trouble. Company purchased from was rude in replies.
