    A great switch from your usual plastic or bone nut.

    As the nut is made from a Teflon derivative, it has a very low friction quotient, therefore less drag on your strings. This helps them ring out a bit more. It's not an extreme difference, but you might notice a bit more overtones, especially when playing clean. It's also nice when tuning, as you won't hear any clicks from the friction, which also means the nut will almost never wear out. It's a bit harder than plastic, so it's much easier to file down to the desired shape without breakage. This is my first time trying a tusq nut and I'm liking it a lot.

    May require extensive modification

    After much grinding, sanding and filling I was able to create an acceptable replacement nut for a Squire P-Bass. It could still use a final sanding to bring the excess height down.I wasn't expecting so much modification and wondered if I had ordered the wrong model as I have replaced many guitar nuts and don't remember any others that required as much modification as this one. Overall, I am happy with the product. Be sure to check product specifications.

    New Nut

    If anyone has had there nut break they don't need to take it in tri a shop. You can do the work with this part and a little care. I was up and playing in under an hour and I have never done guitar maintenance before.

    Very good to improve tuning. TUSQ XL (not just TUSQ)

    TUSQ XL is impregnated with PTFE which is five times more slippery than graphite. It has all the tonal benefits of TUSQ, bringing out the hidden harmonics of your guitar all while drastically improving tuning performance.

    DOES NOT WORK ON AN EPIHPHONE EB3!

    THESE ARE GREAT NUTS. I HAVE THEM ON MOST OF MY GUITARS AND BASSES. I READ ON A FORUM THAT THIS PT-1200-00 WAS A REPLACEMENT FOR AN EPIPHONE EB3. THEY ARE NOT. THEY ARE TOO LONG AND THE STRING SPACING IS VERY DIFFERENT. I COULD NOT USE THIS NUT FOR AN EPIPHONE EB3!.
