This is the only Mark II footage from back in the day, every Purple Head should own this! You get an entire black & white concert in Denmark (Ritchie gets crazy with his guitar) and a partial color concert in New York, it's a must have for any fan! The sound quality is fantastic too! TURN IT UP & ROCK OUT !!!

The quality of the video is good considering it's origin (1972 & 1973). This is Deep Purple at their very best in my opinion. I will say that the camera is not always tracking the performer that should be focused on, but this is very enjoyable anyway.

This is a very rare dvd of Deep Purple and hard to find. It has a very good sound track considering it was done in 1972 and the second half of the disc was 1974. The video footage is clear and well done for the day. Nothing fancy just a band on a stage playing songs that changed and shaped modern music into what it is today. These guys had talent and used no special tricks to play along with so what you have is straight ahead rock and roll and pure ability. If the vocal mix had a little more reverb this could be cd quality live sound. Play it loud and enjoy.
This in the only way to see this classic Mark II Deep Purple Line-up rocking in the 70's as spectacular they was....Classics every where, most of them just months before the recording of the Made in Japan album, nice black & white picture, nice remastered sound, and the best of all was watch the classic SMOKE ON THE WATER as a bonus track taken in a New York IN CONCERT TV apparence in color...You can`t miss this DVD if yu`re a real Purple fan. Paul Gillman
Even though the hardcore Deep Purple fans may have seen the Denmark '72 footage previously, this version is crystal clear and with the sound you'd expect from a commercial release. The reason that you should not hesitate to buy this is the New York '73 material. This is the only footage of "Smoke On The Water" being performed live before Gillian and Glover left the band. (Though the song has been edited for TV as is "Strange Kind of Woman" unfortunatly)"Space Truckin'"is just pure fun to watch. This '73 concert is only weeks before Gillan quit and for the DEEPEST Purple fan this one is a must!
Old vintage concert that sound good and was a decent video for that time period.

Great DVD, but disappointed about a few things. First of all, there should have been an entire concert with more songs. Second, they added on 2 other concerts to add more songs, but adding on the 1973 Madison Square Garden concert, with just 3 songs, 2 of which were on the DVD from Japan made no sense at all. If you are a die hard Purple fan like me, you just have to buy it.
If you like Deep Purple buy this DVD,picture and sound are excellent. There isn't too much non-bootleg footage of this line-up and its doubtful you will find better quality. If I have 1 complaint it would be that who ever was the cameraman seemed afraid to focus on guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. Almost everytime a solo would come up we'd get a close up of either the drummer or other band members.
