I have to pry it out of the way in order to close the blade. The knife is new as advertised. It is solidly made, but will require disassembly and considerable time to fix the sticking lock. Fortunately I enjoy working on knives. I have spent less money on knives that did not have this problem, so I would rate it as a mediocre value. It has a nice appearance with real wood inlays on the grips.
