Works well as a USB 2.0 Hub and Ethernet does connect to router at 1GHz and Windows 10 Actual Speedtests show Ethernet speeds to be in 100+Mbps range and not 10/100/1000 unfortunately. Some of this is limited due to USB 2.0 but I should be able to establish 100 Mbps transfer rate but the highest so far on my USB 2.0 port has been a 150Mpbs connection due to USB 2.0 limitations But for under $10.00 it is a good buy. It allows me to split my Ethernet traffic across two different routers giving me better normalized speeds over 2 different ISP channels on my All-In-One computer which has no capability to add LAN cards internally. This adapter gives me the ability to have 5 ISP connections via WIFI b/g/n and b/g/n/AC once second router is setup. Waiting for WRT 1900 AC from LinkSys to arrive. It is amazing to have 100 Mbps Bandwidth across 2 Ethernet connections for under $10 plus additional USB connections to plug other device in. Just wish I could upgrade archaic USB 2.0 ports to USB 3.0 with out buying new computers.

Ethernet not reliable on Linux
USB 3.0 hub works great on a RHEL 7.4 Linux installation, but the USB Ethernet - not so much. Install was easy and the device was recognized and installed without a problem, but after a few hours the ethernet connection would just drop. Tried building latest Realtek drivers, but did not help. Might be OK for Windows or Mac, or an older version of Linux (even though RHEL 7.4 has a 3.10 level kernel that's been around a while), but there might be problems on Linux.

WiFi is nice but...
If you are happy with WiFi you might not be interested in this. I however, have always preferred to be hardwired to my network. Even at only 5 feet from my router it's much faster and more stable connection. My old laptop has a built in ethernet connection and is even faster than this on but this one is still almost twice as fast as WiFi.
