    Great Addition to Our Mixer Accesories

    After reading so many bad reviews of this item, we order this 1 piece pour shield and the older model 2 piece pour shield for our Kitchen Aid 4.5qt Bowl. I don’t know what all the complaining is about, both items worked well for us, they stayed on and did help decrease the mess made by the mixing process. The 2 piece does cover more area but takes a bit of time to assemble and get into place while the current style 1 piece just pops on and off. Best of all, no more egg sloshing out onto my clothes as I mix and less powdery flour everywhere each time we use our mixer.

    Does not fit snug

    I was expecting this to fit my 4.5QT stainless steel bowl on my Kitchenaid stand mixer as advertised. It just sits on the bowl loosely. I would have expected it to snap on. I tried to get the tabs to fit on the outside or the inside of the bowl. Either way, it does not fit properly. I’m sorry I bought this. Update: I set up my mixer for French bread (7 cups of flour). This pouring shield vibrated right off in the first 10 seconds. Waste of money.

    New meets Old and works!!

    I have a fantastic Kitchenaid Commercial 5qt. mixer and have never liked the original two piece pour shield that I have been using for (ugh) years. This new design fits my old bowl perfectly and doesn't come apart while in use and super easy to clean. If you have an old K5SS you need to upgrade the pour shield to the new one.

    Works well, but be careful cleaning it

    It does what it is supposed to do, but hot water in the sink caused it to warp. Using boiling water and a weight, was able to get it back into suitable shape to work again. Be careful when washing!

    Great solution!

    I’ve used the kitchen aid mixer without the shield and have occasionally created a big mess of dry ingredients flying out the top. This top contains ingredients and allows a larger batch to be mixed at one time.
