But I wished I had bought the 1060 version when it comes to the blade. This damascus version is very rough. Shows multiple pronounced hammer marks in the heavy fingerprint of the steel which grabs onto any type of rag or cloth you intend to wipe with. It is sharp, it's just not pretty.

Now if this was a 2 grand sword or higher it would have gone back already. Really though the Damascus is decent so once quenched I’m sure the decision to finish was given. The finished product is good just got a bend in it. It helps keep it really tight in the scabbard. It’s a 185.00 sword you get what you get. Contacted seller- crickets
