I bought this because I am 78 yrs. old and found it difficult to load my crossbow with the rope pull. I installed it in about thirty minutes, and was using it immediately. just had one problem, the line on the left side string pull keeps popping off the wheel guide retainer. Otherwise works great and easy to crank.

Best to be a bit of a "XBowGunSmith" if to self-install: While the directions are fairly straight forward, and the quality of the accessory is on par with the Barnett line of archery gear, the actual fitment of the "crank bushing", bonded within the stock of the Crossbow has not been found to be uniformly flush. IF NOT, flush on BOTH sides of the bronze bushing where the crank will seat against, you will find BINDING on the stock material when the two halves of the spools are cinched together securely. I experienced this, and found that an appropriately large ratchet socket, when used as a tool "stamp" to tamp the bushing from the "proud" side, flush to the stock material, (using a solid 4x4 bracing the opposing side), you will "find" that "critical fit" when fully assembled and tight. ... I do recommend applying lithium grease to the spools on any riding surface as well to ensure smooth rotation. FURTHERMORE, I wish there was a fitting to retain the cable in the proper recess molded into the stock forward of the cheek weld, as so often, it can drift out of position, causing potential catastrophe if bow is cranked up with the cable escaping to under the scope's picatinny rail. HOWEVER, once fitted out properly, the CCD is a sure aid to an aching back, or cure to a shorter person's insufficient "length of pull" on a traditional cable pull. Smooth, and confident cocking with relative speed with practice. . .

Make the bow easy to cock.
My Grandson will be able to hunt with the Barnett youth Terrian crossbow next season because of this device. He would probably not have been able to cock this crossbow with out this crank device. I recommend it for women, kids, and anyone with a disability that would prevent them from cocking the bow.

Barnett Cranking Device.
After the relatively easy set up, I tried the cocking device where it worked perfectly. I took the hooks off and then thought to put them on to de-cock my crossbow but that didn't look like a good idea so I installed a bolt and shot it. I like the idea where you can easily remove the cranking handle and the rest for the hooks are to be placed after cooking the bow. The only downside is the price but I would buy it again, it's a great accessory. After the relatively easy set up, I tried the cocking device where it worked perfectly. I've got some back and shoulder issues. This is handy for those flare ups. A properly sized and cut rope is still more efficient for me, but this quiet little device is perfect for those cold mornings when my back and/or shoulder say "nope".
