I purchased this as a starter camera for my mom who has recently taken and interest in photography. I tested it before giving it to her and the picture quality is very nice and the zoom is great. It's very easy to use and I think someone who isn't super camera savvy, like my mother, will find it very easy to use.

the autofocus doesn't work right, you have to try over and over before it will focus. I have another one of the cameras, and that's why I bought this one, because I wanted one for home and office. Once it gets the focus right it takes good pictures

First Impression: It doesn't have the solid feel or build quality of the $200 five year old Kodak EasyShare z1012is I just sold, nor does it have the menu choices for exposure settings, etc. Its resolution is much better at 16MP, though I probably will use the 8MP setting more often. Also, it is quicker to use with the Easy Auto scene setting. It seems that I was always fiddling with the Kodak trying to find the best combination of lens/exposure/resolution for general picture taking and never quite succeeding. The camera takes really good images throughout its range so there is no image quality issues for me. The only disagreeable mechanical things I found with the Nikon is that it doesn't pop open the flash automatically but tries to adjust the exposure without it if you leave it closed and it can't pop off the lens cap if you forget to take it off so it shuts down.Read full review
I bought this camera for my wife. It is a point and shoot camera. It is not a SLR or DLR. At $99, (black Friday) total, I am super impressed with this camera. Easy to use, good battery life (camera quality lithium batteries were good for 400 photos and a hour of filming. Loses every tenth photo or so do to too much jitter. Lesson: hold it still. Great flash features.
I wanted something easy to use, but a bit better than the camera on my phone. The zoom function is great. Adjustments can be made very easily. The screen is large enough but the camera is lightweight.

Wonderful feature filled Camera! It's been awhile since I have purchased a digital camera. The features, photo quality and ease of use for the SLR type cameras is amazing! This Nikon is really point and shoot - but offers options to enhance your photos. The focal lenghts avaiable are perfect for about 95% of typical pictures. Well priced and well built - this camera is a bargin!

I bought this camera as a Christmas present for my Mom. I had to try it out to make sure it was in good working order. Was really impressed w/ the image quality versus my $500 camera. It is really easy to use and ergonomically designed to fit in the hand well as to easy access to the controls. I fell in love w/ it and may buy one of my own.

nice camera, easy to use. read the instructions carefully and test yourself on shooting before actually shooting something, just kind of teach and learn the camera. good idea to use a piece of furniture, etc. when shooting at a long distance for a little stability. also, the pop up flast is fabulous, fills beautifully. a great little camera, like the old nikon fm, easy not a lot of big production like the old f 3, or new d series, but more then enough for the average photog who need a camera to shoot a family wedding, etc. you will like this camera, just take the time to read the book of instructions, which by the way is not as much as you think, the first part of the book is english and then the rest is other languages, so don't let it scare you off...nice little camera with nice fill flash.Read full review
I bought this camera for my daughter as she has become interested in photography. I thought I would learn to use it first, and then teach her. I found this camera to be extremely versatile. You can use the automatic features with fantastic results. Then, you can customize the settings and use it manually to obtain just about and affect possible. The pictures are crystal clear and the 28X zoom is fantastic. I am very impressed with this camera as, I think it can be used for great all around family pictures and could be used professionally as well. It is not as large and bulky as the more expensive cameras, which makes it easy to carry, and takes equally good of a picture as any camera I have seen. My other daughter, a professional photographer looked at this Nikon and was also very impressed. She said the features far surpassed her 3-year old camera that she uses for her shoots.Read full review
I wanted a good lightweight, easy to use camera for an upcoming backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail, so a friend of mine told me his wife had a Nikon COOLPIX L110 that took good pictures. I check into them and found they didn't make it anymore. Nikon recommended this one, and I was glad they did, I absolutely love this camera. It's very light, simple to use, and will be easy to carry on the outside of my pack in an attached camera case. With the 26x Optical Zoom Lens built in and the capability of taking wide angle and close-up shots, you don't need additional lens. And with 16.1 Megapixels, you can be sure of super quality pictures. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for an easy to use, lightweight camera, and one that the shooter, could play around with additional features, for making those extra special shots.Read full review
