The lift seems to be a good choice however the latching mechanism could be better designed to support the weight of 8K pounds. The stops are welded with one bead on each side of a metal cylinder that supports the lift.

A very nice lift
I picked this lift up on a Friday afternoon and by Sunday evening I had it working all by myself. It was very easy to assemble existing instructions notwithstanding. Instructions were in vague in places and incorrect in others but it was not hard to figure out. There are not many ways you can put it together and still get it right. I was fortunate in that I had an engine hoist, a couple of floor jacks, so small steel Pzaul books, and a platform table that could be raised and lowered. All of these put together by the assembly go quite well as I didn’t have to lift any large items by myself and was able to use the engine hoist to do the bulk of that. The only two issues I have with the product are : 1. There was no power cord suplied with it, but given the load of the motor described in ... There was no power cord suplied with it, but given the load of the motor described in literature, I was able to go to Harbor freight and picked up a number 10 three conductor drop cord and put it on. I doubt that the motor would ever pull the rated load unless you have the full 8000 pounds rated capacity on it. 2. If your local jurisdiction has problems with no certification listings, there were no UL or other independent testing agencies certifications on the motor. But I’m good with it. Upon final assembly, I was able to come along the project truck I’m working on up onto the lift and raise it into the air, put the wheel dollies under the lift, and relocate the entire lift with the truck on it. The only problem I had doing this alone was the swivel casters wanted to go their own way but I figured out a way to get around that with a couple of aluminum channels. Although my shop ceiling is relatively low for this type of unit (10’-4”)I don’t see a problem with it serving my needs.

Great quality lift for price
Lift is good quality, was delivered on time as promised, follow up support has been excellent as well. A lot more pre-assembly than on previous lifts that I purchased (cables pre-attached to hydraulic cylinder , end linkage for stops already in place). I would buy again.

great product set aside ample time to assemble.
does not come with instructions, must download from web site. Instructions on how to assemble are very vague. pictures show what finished product should look like. thankfully I had already assembled one from another manufacturer years before. casters are a joke. unless bolted to floor could be dangerous instructions say optional.
