The Ageless Classic
I was in high school when this came out in theaters. Sometime within the last decade there was talk of a new film with "young" actors playing the roles of the star-crossed lovers- as if it was the first time! It was visually spectacular and Hussey/Whiting were endearing and engaging. At the end, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. This film deserves full restoration and Shakespeare fans of all ages should see it. They will appreciate it for the true masterpiece it was and is still is. There IS no greater film representation to this day in my book.

Love this Original
I remember seeing this movie a long time ago when it first came out. I loved the language they used that was appropriate to this era of time. I had the soundtrack before I bought the movie on VHS. This is a movie that you delight in seeing over and over again for the music, the graceful dancing and the beauty of it. Although this is a bittersweet movie, you will also enjoy the comedy that is infused. All the characters were riveting. This is a movie I highly recommend.

The Best Ever Made..
This is the best movie of Romeo and Juliet i ever really liked.. The Costumes, the set, the acting, the characters...i cant really say enough for this film... it was almost like being there..there is nothing bad i can say about this Romeo and Juilet... you will just have to experienced it... it is worth it... i wanted to say also... the shipping from wherever this was shipped from exceeded the time they said it would arrive... it was here in like 2-3 days after ordering it... i was pleasantly surprised to say the least...

A BLAST FROM THE PAST: A 52-YEAR OLD MOVIE, BUT YOU CAN'T GO WRONG THE BARD OF AVON!
I watched this movie as a teenager, and loved it then. It is a Period Piece, which I prefer to a "modernized" version of Shakespeare. The acting, locations, costumes, hair and makeup are superb. This movie is every bit as good as I remembered. I am very glad I got it in DVD format. I am NOT going to write a ridiculously long review. NOT needed with a truly GREAT MOVIE.

Saw in theater in Japan at age 13
This 1968 version is the BEST! I remember my sister and I sitting through 2 showings in one night, at age 13,on an Air Force Base in Japan. At first sight of Romeo,girls in the theater,including myself thought he was so cute! Soon after,my sister and I bought the Soundtrack. We played it so often we knew most of the dialog by heart. I bought Olivia Hussey's book The Girl on the Balcony today and look forward to reading.
