Great vacuum, but don't like the trigger
I love this vacuum. It's really light and I like that there's no cord. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that you have to physically hold the trigger the entire time you're using it. It seems like it would be really easy to build in a mechanism to keep the trigger locked in. I've had to switch hands or take a break while vacuuming so I didn't get a blister on my finger. Other than that, it's great.

Make sure everything works before you throw out the box.
Two months in and this vacuum still doesn't work. - Dyson replace the battery. - Dyson replaced the bin assembly - This unit does not operate any of the power attachments (rug or furniture). Dyson keeps asking for paperwork or videos. - Why does it take two months? - My tools all work. - It needs a new power unit. - I think they should just replace the power unit. - After two months, I told them I think a deserve an upgrade. Works great, but limited by battery
Quality and condition were great, and it was easy to use. Only negative is the run time on the battery. While advertising states 40 minutes, that is only at the low speed and with no power attachments. The refurbished is a really good deal.
So far, it has performed beautifully. I have to confess that it is very powerful. So far, I am using it largely on our patio to pick up the small leaves and the fine rubber powder produced by the high amount of traffic that passes our condo and it does this with ease. I use the small head for that purpose, and the larger head for vacuuming the cleaner indoor carpets. The wall charger is convenient. Have to remember to threat the plug in cord from behind or the fit for placing the vacuum is too tight. I bought extra years of warranty, tho, because I have read that one of the cons is that these vacuums only last for 2 years. It seems that that observation has a high probability of being true. At least I found that to be the case for other less expensive cordless vacuums that I've purchased in the past - quite frustrating. I am also glad that I could try out the dyson at this refurbished price. If this one lasts and keeps working as well as it has been, I will definitely be thinking of buying refurbished the next time, as it makes the Dyson more competitive price wise. Performance wise I think it does outdo the Shark, which I was a fan of - but the Shark only lasted a short time, regardless of replacing the battery.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

My New Dyson Animal 8
I've always has and loved Dyson vac. I love this one but hate the way it empties. The directions to do it aren't clear so I had to find a Youtube to show me how to do it. Other than that, its a typical, powerful, dyson. Lightweight, easy to maneuver under beds and on stairs.
I love this lightweight Dyson. I have a large Dyson that I use when vacuuming the entire house, but I love pulling this one out for smaller jobs. A Persian cat lives with us...he's has six inch long fur...a shedding nightmare. This Animal Dyson is perfect for keeping his fur off the carpet and furniture. Lightweight & Light on the Wallet - Highly Recommend
This is an amazing vacuum - have been impressed with the power and suction for a cordless option. It is lightweight, easy to pick up and use, and has a variety of useful extensions to ensure you can get to every area in the house. The "Max suction mode" is really great for getting dirt out of tough spots. The battery will only last ~7-10 mins on he max suction mode, but 30 mins on normal, which I find is plenty, particularly given the storage setup has it always on the charger so is always ready to go. I keep forgetting this was a refurb unit, no visual evidence of that on the product, and definitely no evidence of that by the performance. My trusty purple dirt eater
My Dyson never fails to deliver. This is my 3rd Dyson cordless stick vacuum. I purchased this one for the home of a friend. I’m staying in the home this summer. The empty function is a bit different on this one but this empty version seems to eliminate the dirt fuzz that used to be left sticking to the insides of the canister. I hope it performs as well as the ones I’ve used before. So far we are getting along just fine. TOTALLY SATISFIED
Ordered a reconditioned V8 Animal. We also have a central vacuum system but using the Dyson makes taking care of many situations much easier than the central vacuum which is cumbersome to take out an put back. The power of the Dyson absolutely great. I vacuumed a large area rug with it and came up with 3 canisters of hair and dirt that was embedded into the rug. (YUCK) The central vacuum was not capable in getting all this although it had been used a short time ago. There was a new bag in the central vacuums main canister so the suction was at it peak but nowhere that of the Dyson V8. Had a problem with the Dyson unit the day I received it but a call to Dyson and their customer staff took care of it immediately. I could not ask for more.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Retrofitted product too expensive
Bought this dyson as a factory retrofit. Found out that I could have bought the same model brand new with ALL the manufacturers warranty with my 20% discount from Dyson I am a bit disappointed.
