This Is Not A Review of The Contents; It's A Review Of The CD Itself
This may be the eighth copy of DSOM I have owned; and it may be the best (though some seriously-deluxe versions have been released since the release of this one in the '90s). There are two issues. One is major and the other minor. The worst thing about Mobile Fidelity products is their proprietary CD retention system. It very frequently cracks the CD. Get a new jewel case before it happens to you! The second is that there are no additional liner notes. I would love to have read about what went in to making this reissue as I am very curious about personnel and master tape sources and the like. That's it. For collectionists!
This is a cd made of gold so it is attractive mainly to collectionists sound from this type of CDs might sound better for some listeners but if you just like to listen to music without being a fan of pink floyd you won't really find much of a difference! Simply MFSL from old good times
Gold CD from original masters, no "audio enhancements", no stupid digital EQ-lard, plays as from distribution tape (I know what I´m talking about - I heard it). Analogue sound from a CD?
My first MoFi disc. It is undoubtedly good quality and sounds softer than the the standard CD......more of an analogue sound. Would I pay hundreds of pounds for it?
