EMPI CV boots are always flawless. If you have a problem with the fit, it is because you have an aftermarket axle in your car. In that case, put it back together with zip ties and try again the following weekend with a rebuilt axle. If I am just rebooting instead of replacing the entire axle, I always leave the inboard axle in the car and separate the axle at the inboard CV joint to avoid hassles with the passenger side axle support and hassles with prying the axle out of the transmission.
