Grail for one watch wearers.
I’m a bit obsessed with watches and have been on the lookout for the one perfect all around watch which I could wear pretty much all the time (Paddleboarding, hiking, weddings, work etc). I wanted something high quality, auto movement (with a preference towards in house movements) that wasn’t to flashy… and after years of jumping around I’ve settled into this grail being between this and a Rolex explorer (or date just). I honestly find the two to be quite comparable with an edge to omega on the movement, and while the brand recognition and retaining of value is a bit better with roly: it also comes with a bit of a sense of snobbery as well. What it really comes down to is price: Msrp wise they aren’t that far apart but when it comes to real world prices: it’s 2021 and roli shortages have caused prices to skyrocket. To the point where it’s not even close. Ultimately pulled the trigger on this Aqua Terra and absolutely love it.
