“Good-Very Good overall vint cond: Offered is this wonderful Olive C. Moore signed, lg format mid-20th c North Shore, Rockport, MA School, frmd nautical O/C. There's a sm puncture/hole & rear, old canvas patched repair on the lower left side (deep pthalo blue shadow of the boat reflection in the water.) This area was apparently professionally repaired & in-painted by either the artist or by a professional painting restorer, since the damage isn't noticeable upon viewing. In the spirit of transparency, honesty & forthrightness, this sm cond issue's being mentioned. It's not fatal, appreciable or depreciating. The painting remains a lg scale & quite remarkable, mid-20th c vint O/C & notable example of the Rockport, MA (North Shore) School of American Post-Impressionist oil painting, which blossomed after the conclusion of WWII & which put a strong emphasis on depicting harbor, fishing, nautical & maritime themes, w/a distinctly painterly approach. Absolutely gorgeous. Big & beautiful.”
