  • Murphy's Laws: Irony and a whole lot of truth

    This is the latest edition of Murphy's Laws compiled by Arthur Bloch. Many of these laws or rules will be familiar to disciples of Murphology. There are several pertinent to our times, even considering this edition was published in 1999. What I value about Murphy's Laws is that they were written by people with wit, perspective, and great insight. In a politically correct society this is refreshing. Furthermore, these sage observations of "reality" at least for me take the edge off of my impression that "the world" is not at all the way I was taught 60 years ago. This book also reminds me that life is still better than the alternative and shows that humor, people who are willing to yell, "hey, the emperor is nude," does help me reflect on life with a bit more perspicacity.
