This book is awesome. You always hear how much food this has or that has, but never see the comparison. Well now I can see the comparison and what a difference it makes. I liked this book so much, that I bought two and one is kept in our kitchen at work for reading and comparisons. It's amazing how much in calories one can consume without really knowing and then seeing how much good and nutritious food one can eat in it's place it amazing. In our office we are doing the "biggest loser" game and Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss" book is definately and eye opener. If you are needing to change your diet for life, not just as a fad, then this is definately the book for you. I heard about it through a friend and decided to buy it for myself. This is the best book I've ever read on weight loss. The pictures that show how you can eat this or all of this, blows your mind. It's all about choices. Children also spend hours looking at the pictures and thinking about what they would rather choose. Yes, there is writing in the book, but not scolding. It's your choie. I saw the book at my uncles picked it up and ordered it that day. A client came to my home and picked it up, and I can tell she wanted it, so I gave it to her and ordered another one. My daughter saw the book and the same day she ordered one for her. My neighbor, became ill and had to have a shunt done on his heart valves, I,m not sure if that is the correct medical term, but you know what I mean, so I gave him the book, he took it to the hospital with him. When he came home, he also ordered the 30 day meal plan and has lost ten pounds. In the mean time I ordered another two books, because next time some one comes to visit, I'll have one left. My parents sent this one to me. After I got over the hurt feelings (hey, what are you trying to tell me?!), I started looking through it. Much of it is common sense, but a lot of the foods that I'd been eating---thinking they were good for me---turned out to be laden with fat and calories. This shows you in picture format what to substitute for those unhealthy and fattening treats. This is one that I take out to look at when those midnight cravings set in. It works!
I am in a weight loss program through my employer and it is a team thing. Anyway we had a educational meeting and this book was brought up. It is really amazing to see the different ways you can use the calories up, even thinking you are eating health sometimes isn't the healthy way. I love the book and the ideas it provides. Best purchase, and with 20 pounds to go and after that it is just a great book to have in your kitchen!
I love the visuals. They stick in my mind for future use. The pictures help me to make better choices in snacks and meals. I decided to buy the book because my WeightWatchers leader shows us entries occasionally to help us make better decisions in what we eat. It has worked well for me.
This is a "must-have" for the serious dieter! Nothing speaks more clearly than seeing the choices you have. You will eat healthier AND be able to eat more; so you will not feel you have to starve yourself. Just a wonderful book!
This book can really help with losing the pounds. I started eating healty and I feel better with more entergy to focus.
This book puts in pictures very eye-opening comparisons between food you can choose from. For example, it shows that 1 scone equals 14 slices of raisin bread. To see the picture is very revealing. It's one thing to read the comparison, it's another to actually SEE in pictures the comparison.
this book is very helpful to anyone who is trying to loose weight and it is vey easy to understand. it would help if the good doctor would include some recipes and a daily regime to follow
I bought this book because it contrasts in pictures what you can get with wise choices in food selection, compared to not such wise choices. Very interesting!
