The tool included no instructions, was missing a needed screw with an uncommon thread to engage with the old cartridge shaft to pull the old cart. out of the valve body and also the tool needed a large diameter washer from my junk box to work as I saw it. I found a needed screw in my junk box.

    Good temporary fix for Moen's design problem

    Moen shower handle was so hard to to turn, it broke the plastic handle adapter. I rebuilt the valve cartridge with this kit, and now you can turn the handle with one finger. Moen has a serious design problem here. This house is only 3-1/2 years old, and 2 of the 4 showers developed this problem so far. The idea that you have to rebuild your shower valve every 3 or 4 years is ridiculous. It's not clear to me what causes the high amount of friction between the valve spool and its housing, but installing this kit fixes it. Be careful when reassembling, or you will pinch and cut the new-o-rings. As you install the spool into the sleeve, you will have to use a tool to push the o-ring into place to prevent damage. I went ahead and bought 4 extra kits, because I know I'll need them. I ...

    Its a very good option if you dont want to spend 40.00 at home depot to fix your shower valve very simple to asamble and dont need plumber skills to do this because its very easy to do it your self

    While the kit I purchased is great , the faucets not so much. My two Moen sink faucets have leaked since day one and have put replacement cartridges in them twice.
