Only two rows of red lights?

I wanted to share this to save others from having the same possible confusion as I've had (and others I've seen posting the same issue). I have been using my DPL Flex pad for about a week, three times a day on my chronic sore knee (I walk A LOT for my job) and was pain free at the end of the week, first time in over a year! But recently I glanced at it and noticed there's only two rows of lights working (the bright red LED ones.) I thought, "oh no, it's broken already!" So I went and looked at other's reviews and I saw a couple that were complaining about the same thing. But I also saw some posts from users saying the other rows of lights are "infrared LED light," and you cannot see it with the naked eye. So I looked up online how to test if infrared LED lights are truly working. Several sites said to take a pic with your cell phone and the infrared will show up as dimly purple. Sure enough, see the pic I attached! The two really bright rows are the regular, red LED's. And the dimmer ones are the row of lights that to my naked (eek!) eye, cannot see the infrared light, but they're clearly working! Yaaay! I don't need to go through a whole return procedure, etc! And I HIGHLY recommend this product because as I said, it has been working wonders for me!

    Wiring issues

Red light therapy is very useful in healing and I have no issues with that aspect of the unit. The problem is, and this has happened before in a different Flex Pad I purchased a couple of years ago, the wiring is very fragile and breaks easily. The pad I purchased was hotter than the one I brought years ago but I don't think that is a factor in the breakage. First thing that happened is the fabric became loose from the pad itself but the pad continued to work. Last week the wiring completely broke from the pad where the wire goes into the back. I cut it open to see if it can be fixed and saw that the wires are held down by small plastic zip ties. Laying on the metal wires broke right at that sharp edge. Breakage waiting to happen. I can fix it but breakage in 2 pads, the wiring needs to be redesigned.

  • better quality light machine

Ive used other machines but this one tops the bunch. The cost kept me away from ordering it before but the machines that i had bought broke down after a few years. THis one works better on my knees than the others. looking forward to the mitt for my arthritic hand. I guess...you get what you pay for. I will buy DPL products again. thanks

  • Not Worth the Money

I bought this for my neck pain which is constant. The lights are attached to a stiff piece of material, making it difficult to wrap around my neck. The cord is way too short also, making an extension cord necessary. There is no timer attached, and there were no printed guidelines telling information about the lights and how long a therapy session should last. So far it has not helped my neck much. Disappointed. I was so hoping for improvement.

  • works great!

The DPL flex is flexible, and it wraps around the area of interest easily. It is not something I would share with other people however, as it is not washable. sure helps with my neck and shoulder pain!

  • SEEMS GREAT SO FAR

DPL Flex Pad is just as described. I'm using it for Fibrosis caused by radiation treatment in my neck. I've only had it for a week, so probably too early to rate its effectiveness.

  • LED Light Therapy working!

Took a few treatments to feel a difference, but works overall. Really wish the product had an automatic shut-off feature.

  • It really helps

Gives me temporary relief of pain from arthritis in shoulder. It also helps with a broken finger that never healed properly. The design allows the pad to wrap over shoulder and around my hand making it easy to use.

  • Good infrared product but bad method of delivery.

Needs to be recharged too often. Longer charge is needed. Preferred a timer with heat controls as in previous versions.
