It seemed like it was facing outward rather than in towards my ear. I'm sure it's just a "me" issue, but I ended up returning them. I'm not good with ear bud type things to start with, but was hoping this was my answer. The instructions were tiny!!

The design is unique, for clipping it behind your ear. The charging container, at least informs you what percentage it’s on. But the device itself, can’t handle basic use or wear and tear. The port, where sound comes through, dismantled, after 2 days. I had to throw both pieces away. I won’t ever buy these again.
