    Solid quality RAM regardless of age

    I have always been very pleased with Corsair products. I bought 2 of these kits for my X79 build I was pleased to find the kits in Blue as they nicely match my blue X79 ASUS motherboard. While looks are not really important I considered other brands but I have had very good experience with Corsair products I own a power supply a SSD Keyboard and Liquid CPU cooler all Corsair all are working perfectly and I have no reason to expect them not to continue long into the future. Note this is DDR 3 RAM so it is not newest tech but the motherboard is NOS so the system will be basically new and it is a notable upgrade from the system it is replacing

    Great ram but gaming ram won't be faster if your computer doesn't support the faster timings at 1600 mhz

    The only negative I have is that on my particular computer a HP Z220 workstation this ram only functions at 1333 mhz not 1600 mhz as advertised. Apparently my desktop doesn't support 1600 ram with these specific timings so it runs it as 1333 ram. I replaced 8 gb of 1600 ram with slower timings and this ram even running at 1333 still was very slightly faster in passmark. That being said This is gaming ram and is supposed to be faster. It did not preform noticeable faster and is not worth the extra price when compared to standard desktop ram. Note my HP Z220 does not have any ram settings in the bios. This is a high end workstation and they vale reliability over preference so they don't want users changing or overclocking ram settings. That being said if I was using a gaming motherboard ...

    Exactly what I wanted

    I have an old p55 ftw board that maxes at 16gb. I figured since I'm rocking 10 year old stuff still and ryzen 4000 desktops are next year that I'd wait. Maybe x670 boards will come out. With a GTX 1660 super and ssds this old PC still has some kick.
