    Absolutely Inaccurate Device

    I had this unit for some months before I suspected it might not be accurate. To verify, I lined up 3 digital units I already had to the Springfield Precision unit. Each digital was off by about a degree or so, but the Springfield was off by nearly 20 degrees. I found this unacceptable and, using a screwdriver, pried the thing apart--reset the springs--and ended up with a fairly close device. One should NOT have to do this. Most frustrating was that I was using that device in a somewhat important area (around my acoustic guitar) of the house. I learned my lesson. At this price point, the item is worthless unless fixed. Bad deal, if you ask me.

    A neat little gadget!

    Pretty cool product, only gave it 4 stars because the thermometer seems to register higher than the actual temp. I have 2 digital thermometers that are accurate and its off 2 degrees from them even though placed in the same area. Other wise a great value. I would go ahead and buy this product.
